Nigerian media star Toke Makinwa is glowing in motherhood as she unveils a beautiful photo with her newborn daughter, Yakira Eliana. Two weeks after announcing the arrival of her first child, the former OAP took to Instagram to celebrate the gift of her new life.
In the picture, Toke and her daughter wore matching pink outfits, radiating warmth and happiness. Accompanying the photo, she wrote,
My heart is so full of gratitude, if anyone ever told me that life would get this good, whooosh!!!! Yakira and I just wishing you all a lovely Sunday. Mama YaYa.”
The post melted hearts as fans and colleagues showered her with love. Comments ranged from “So cute” to “No greater joy,” with many congratulating her once again and celebrating her new journey into motherhood.
Just days earlier, Toke revealed how obsessed she has become with Yakira, admitting she has been taking countless photos of her. She described August as the month that gave her the greatest gift of her life, noting how her daughter had changed her status and healed the broken heart she had carried since childhood.
In a touching note to her daughter, the proud mother revealed how she already imagined future spa dates after giving Yakira her first manicure. She admitted she was drowning in her little one’s big eyes and learning something new every day.
Speaking on her podcast, Toke broke down in tears as she recalled praying to God that she would turn 40 as a mother. To her amazement, she conceived the month after her milestone birthday.
She also revealed in an interview with Marie Claire that she had battled fear throughout her pregnancy, worried about what could go wrong. But eventually, she embraced the joy of her blessing, reminding herself that the Lord’s gift comes with no sorrow.
