Nollywood actress Regina Daniels responds to criticisms over viral video where she opened up about her ongoing marital crisis with politician Ned Nwoko. The actress made it clear that she has no regrets about her past choices, noting that her marriage to Ned was a journey she was destined to take but not her final destination.
In her Instagram story, Regina addressed those questioning her decision to share the video, saying she already posted it and stands by it. According to her, people’s opinions are one thing while hers is another. She explained that her intention was to “say a lot without saying anything” and urged fans not to expect her to break down in front of the camera.
Everyone keeps saying this video shouldn’t have been posted. But it’s been posted already, so it’s fine. Your thought is one thing, mine is another,” she wrote. “The idea was to say a lot without saying anything. Please don’t expect me to cry in front of this camera. People who love me are fighting for me, and I appreciate them with all my heart.”
In a fresh twist, Regina Daniels’ kinsmen have issued an open letter to her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko, demanding he accepts the return of the bride price and stops the alleged harassment of her family members.
In the letter, shared online by filmmaker Stanley Ontop, her family reminded Ned that marriage is not by force. They stated that according to custom, once a woman’s family returns the bride price and the man refuses to collect it, the community can deposit it at a recognised location.
They also condemned the alleged arrest and intimidation of Regina’s relatives, describing it as unacceptable. The family gave Nwoko a 48-hour ultimatum to acknowledge the return of the bride price and ensure the release and safety of all affected family members.
Earlier this week, Regina had publicly accused Ned of using his influence to intimidate her family after allegedly ordering the arrest of her siblings. She revealed that her brother was beaten by police officers and questioned why such violence was necessary.
Regina stated that Ned wants her to return both to him and to rehab, but she insists on being left alone. “He thinks he has power, money, and connection and believes I don’t,” she wrote.
Her troubles began when she alleged she was facing domestic violence in her marriage. In a viral clip, she tearfully confessed that despite being called a queen, she never felt like one in her husband’s house.
Ned, on the other hand, released a statement accusing Regina of battling drug and alcohol addiction and engaging in violent behaviour at home allegations her siblings have publicly denied. Her sister, Destiny Daniels, even shared photos of alleged scars from the abuse to prove otherwise.
Since moving out of her marital home, Regina revealed she has purchased a new house in Ikoyi, Lagos. Sharing photos of the luxurious property, the mother of two said she needed a roof over her head and decided to get one for herself and her family.
