Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko has denied claims that he wants his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, to return to his home, insisting he only wants her to undergo therapy.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Ned Nwoko clarified that he is not communicating with Regina Daniels and does not wish for her return. The politician stressed that Daniels is under the influence of drugs and that much of what she says is false. He urged those close to her to take her to a rehabilitation centre.
I am not chatting with Regina, and I don’t want her back in my life. I just want her to go for therapy. She is under the influence of dr*gs and whatever she says are lies. If anyone around her claims to love her and care for the kids, they should take her to a rehab centre,” Nwoko said. He claimed Daniels’ birthday celebrations at a Wuse 2 hotel, which lasted four days, marked a return to drugs, violence, and clashes with police and guests.
This comes a day after Daniels threatened to expose Nwoko, alleging involvement in criminal acts and claiming that he introduced her to drugs to satisfy him and enhance their sexual life. She posted photos in a black dress to mourn her past and advised Nwoko to move on and find a new wife.
Weeks ago, Daniels had spoken out about alleged domestic violence in her marriage, saying in a viral clip that she did not feel like a queen in her husband’s house.
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala also weighed in, admonishing Nwoko to leave Daniels alone. She questioned his repeated mentions of drugs and rehab, insisting that Regina is sound, intelligent, and should be with her immediate family if anything.
Honestly, Pa Ned, I think it is time you leave this young girl alone. You and your people can’t be coming behind soliciting for peace, yet you are here on the internet acting differently. Regina is sound and intelligent. If there’s any place she should be, it’s with her immediate family, especially her mother,” Doris stated.
Doris also reminded Nwoko that Regina’s birth certificate and passport confirm her age, countering his claims that he married her at 17. She highlighted his controversial sexual history, alleging he introduced partners to women-to-women encounters and hinted at drug use. She maintained that the narrative of drug abuse is being used to control and blackmail Daniels back into a toxic marriage.
Nwoko claimed that Regina’s family and associates disobeyed his instructions to rehabilitate her, sometimes bringing drugs into his house. Daniels, however, accused him of encouraging her drug use and controlling her life, only labeling her mentally unstable when she rejected the marriage.
