Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun has cautioned the public about fake friends, urging everyone to be mindful of those who appear close but thrive on negativity. On his Twitter page, Makun warned against anyone who claims friendship yet rushes to exploit bad news about others for attention or profit.

Beware of anyone who calls you a friend yet rushes to jump on any negative news about you just to trend and gain monetisation. Not everyone around you wishes you well. May God protect us from friends who are truly enemies in disguise. Their karma is never far,” he wrote.

Makun, popularly known as AY, has often shared insights about life, work, and resilience. A few months ago, he spoke about defying age stereotypes in the entertainment industry, noting that he remains relevant and cannot retire. He attributed his drive to his children, revealing that one of his greatest purposes is to provide for and nurture those who make life meaningful.

Earlier this year, AY opened up about misconceptions surrounding his personality. He shared that grace has helped him navigate challenges with courage and determination, while trolls only ever see the surface of his life. He also emphasized the importance of peace, coexistence, and setting high standards in life, advising followers to manage frustrations without harming others.
