Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2baba or 2face, has reached out for help as he navigates intense marital challenges. In a now-deleted social media post, the singer simply wrote: “Help me,” sparking concern among fans and colleagues.
Reacting to his post, many expressed alarm. One fan wrote, “Omo, water don pass garri. Them don use Benin juju take tie our legend,” while another added, “Ah! Omo, this is becoming serious o.” Others urged caution and mercy, highlighting the need for support rather than judgment.
The singer’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, also appealed to 2baba, urging him to allow family intervention. On his Instagram story, he wrote:
You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant, lyrics meant to inspire. But somehow, it’s unfolding in real time. Painful reality, allow us to save you. Oyinem, you’ve been suffering for too long. God knows.”
This comes after a former staff member of 2baba, Kaka, alleged that Natasha, the singer’s current wife, frequently hindered his career and exerted psychological control over him. Kaka claimed he eventually distanced himself from the couple because he believed Natasha’s actions impeded 2baba’s professional growth.
Support for the singer has come from industry colleagues. Rapper and actor Ikechukwu Onunaku expressed solidarity, calling 2baba his brother and assuring him that “this too shall pass” with God’s guidance. Meanwhile, media personality Daddy Freeze voiced concern over the singer’s wellbeing, saying the Instagram Live confrontation was traumatizing and urging those close to the couple to intervene.
The singer’s mother, Rose Idibia, has also appealed to Natasha, asking her to remove the beads she kept on 2baba, noting that he is in the process of divorcing Annie Idibia and may not be in the right frame of mind. His younger brother, Charles Idibia, accused Natasha of controlling and manipulating 2baba, urging him to wake up for the sake of his children.
