American singer Katy Perry recently made a revelation that she has been sober for five weeks. Not only that, but she also made a no-alcohol pact with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom. The couple vowed to not reach for the booze for three months. Perry shared this information during a curated cocktail event at NYC’s Mister Paradise this week, where she also jokingly wiped away her tears while discussing her sobriety journey.
Perry, who is a judge on “American Idol“, co-founded a line of non-alcoholic apéritifs last year. She kickstarted her relationship with Bloom in January 2016, and the pair made their red carpet-debut in September 2018. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019. Furthermore, in August 2020, they announced the birth of their daughter, Daisy Dove.
Perry and Bloom’s commitment to sobriety is commendable. Especially since the entertainment industry is often associated with a heavy drinking culture. Fans of the couple will no doubt be cheering them on as they continue on their journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
