The Ogun State Police Command has arrested popular singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, after he repeatedly refused to honor the police invitation. The Zazoo crooner was arrested on Friday, March 31, following the expiration of a 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the Ogun State police command.
This follows the viral videos of Portable resisting arrest and verbally abusing police officers that surfaced on Tuesday, March 28. The police subsequently issued a warning for him to report himself to the nearest police station within 72 hours or face arrest, a warning he ignored.
Confirming his arrest, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the singer had refused five invitations to report himself to the police. Portable is currently in police custody at the state headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. He will subsequently be charged to court on Monday, April 3.
