Job Description
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Perform month end and year end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Conduct regular financial analysis, monitor variances, and report on financial performance to management.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other relevant taxes, within the specified deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitor budgetary performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Support external audits and ensure timely and accurate provision of requested information.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
Qualification
- National Diploma in Accounting.
- Professional Qualification: Applicants must be an Accounting Technician.
- Three years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services setting.
- Solid knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Integrity and adherence to ethical accounting practices.
