Actress Charity Eke, also known as Cha Cha Eke, recently shared a heartbreaking post on her Instagram page about her difficult connection with her mother. In the post, she revealed that, while growing up, she developed deep animosity towards her mother. even going as far as wishing her dead.

Cha Cha stated how her early, strong affection for her mother slowly changed into contempt as she grew older. She opened up about experiencing nightmares and hallucinations that fuelled her negative feelings. The situation worsened when certain individuals within religious circles claimed that her mother posed a threat to her life.

The actress described how her viewpoint altered as she became more aware of her mental health and problematic thought habits. She shared a heartfelt video of herself and her mother, emphasizing the bond they share.

This is a video of me and my biological mom. I loved her intensely when I was younger. She was, and still is, my best friend. However, as I got older, I began to dislike and develop deep hatred for her,” Cha Cha expressed in her Instagram post.

Reflecting on her mental health journey, Cha Cha acknowledged that her negative thoughts and beliefs were symptomatic of a disorder. A chemical reaction in her brain waves altered her perception of her mother from “most favorite” to “least favorite.”

The actress also shed light on the broader issue of emotional estrangement caused by underlying mental conditions. She urged readers to recognize that individuals suffering from such conditions often fabricate negative stories to support their distorted claims. Cha Cha encouraged seeking professional help and highlighted the availability of medication to address these inexplicable emotions.

As she celebrated her mother’s birthday, Cha Cha expressed deep gratitude for realizing that her negative feelings were rooted in her own mental illness. She professed her love and admiration for her mother, acknowledging her as a blessed woman who raised a queen.
