Renowned Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has refuted allegations that her colleague, Dayo Amusa, was referring to her in a recent post she made on social media.
Dayo Amusa had shared a post about an “ingrate” who was calling their benefactor a “thug.” Some users on Instagram assumed that the post was targeted at Iyabo and started tagging her. They suggested that Dayo was referring to MC Oluomo. Oluomo is a staunch APC member and supporter of Bola Tinubu, the APC Presidential candidate. In this scenario, Oluomo is the “thug,” and Iyabo the “ingrate” for opposing Oluomo and his political affiliation.
In response to the claims, Iyabo posted a video online to clarify that Dayo’s post was not about her. She stated that MC Oluomo had never paid her rent or her children’s school fees. She further insisted that he had never helped her with her mortgage.
Regarding the backlash she has received for supporting Peter Obi over Tinubu, Iyabo Ojo reiterated that she believes Tinubu is too old to serve as Nigeria’s President. She expressed her admiration for Tinubu as a godfather and kingmaker. However, she argued that he would not be an effective President due to his age.
Iyabo Ojo further noted that her opposition to Tinubu’s presidential aspiration is for his own good, as she believes that he should not subject himself to the stress that comes with the office due to his age. Iyabo maintained that she respects Tinubu and wishes him all the best.
