Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has formally signed into law a bill that establishes a new, official seal for the state, granting it the full force of law.

The newly enacted legislation, known as ‘A Bill For A Law To Create The Seal Of Adamawa And Regulate Its Use 2025,’ provides a legal framework for the emblem’s creation, protection, and regulated use as the definitive symbol of government authority and identity.

At the signing ceremony, Governor Fintiri described the occasion as a historic moment for Adamawa.

He emphasised that the new seal is far more than a simple graphic; it is a profound representation of the state’s authority, its rich cultural heritage, and its collective aspirations for the future.

Governor Fintiri stated that the seal serves as a powerful statement of identity, dignity, and responsibility for every public servant and citizen of the state.

The design of the seal is deeply symbolic, incorporating elements that narrate the story of Adamawa. It features the Kakaki, a traditional trumpet symbolising power and royalty, and a spear representing a warrior heritage. A horse denotes courage and tradition, while twenty-one stars stand for each of the state’s local government areas. Additional symbols include a lion for strength and leadership, a book and academic hat for the pursuit of knowledge, and images of cattle, crops, and a fisherman, highlighting the critical importance of agriculture and the contributions of riverine communities to the state’s economy and culture.
