Adamawa SEC approves N8.5bn for 2 bridges, solar electricity in 6 hospitals

Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the award of contracts to build two bridges and provide solar-powered electricity in six cottage hospitals.

At the SEC meeting on Wednesday, the council approved the building of a 12-span bridge with an approach road in Shuwa, as well as a four-span bridge with an approach road in Hyambula, Madagali LGA.

The two bridge projects cost a total of N8,181,234,792.01.

The projects were awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited and are projected to be completed within six months.

James Iliya, Adamawa State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, told the newsmen following the council meeting that the project is divided into two lots.

According to the commissioner:

“Lot one consists of the construction of Shuwa 12-span bridge with approach at the cost of N5,650,731,482.50, while the second lot is the construction of a 4-span bridge and approach road in Hyambula, Madagali Local Government Area, at the cost of N2,530,503,309.60.”

He announced that the council approved the award of a contract for the installation as well as supply of 30 KVA hybrid solar systems in six cottage hospitals around the state.

The solar power project, worth N431,662,541.94, was given to Blue Camel Energy and is scheduled to be completed within two months.

The solar-powered cottage hospitals are located in Shelleng, Guyuk, Demsa, Lamurde, Gombi, and Furore local government areas of Adamawa state.
