A heartbreaking tragedy struck the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic in Eruwa, Oyo state, on Friday, June 16. Dasola, a second-year National Diploma (ND) Mass Communication student, was discovered dead in her room under chilling circumstances.
The gruesome discovery revealed matchet wounds on her body and her eyes tragically plucked out, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to Vanguard’s report, Dasola’s absence during an examination on Thursday raised concerns among her friends and coursemates. One of her friends decided to visit her residence in the Ile Idibo area, only to find the door locked from the outside, indicating that no one was inside. Disturbingly, a putrid odour emanated from the room, prompting the neighbours to investigate further. Peering through her window, they were confronted with the lifeless body of Dasola.
Hence, the neighbours immediately raised the alarm, drawing the attention of others in the vicinity. The school’s management was promptly notified, suspending ongoing examinations as a mark of respect for the deceased’s soul.
Furthermore, the Eruwa Police Division swiftly arrived to assess and remove the body from the room. They subsequently transferred the corpse to the General Hospital in Eruwa for further examination. Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the truth behind this horrifying crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves throughout the institution and the entire community, leaving everyone in mourning and disbelief. Students, faculty members, and residents struggle with the incomprehensible loss of a promising young individual whose life ended brutally.
