Nigeria defender Semi Ajayi has pinpointed one positive aspect of the Super Eagles squad under head coach Jose Peseiro at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.
The West Brom star stated that the Super Eagles club, led by Peseiro, has numerous weapons.
According to the former Arsenal student, you cannot focus just on one player in the Super Eagles roster since everyone has the capacity to score or generate assists.
Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, and Ademola Lookman have scored Nigeria’s goals in the AFCON, with Calvin Bassey and Moses Simon assisting.
“I think the beauty of this team is that we’ve got so many weapons,” Ajayi told Soccernet ahead of Nigeria’s semi-final against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Wednesday.
“You can’t put all your attention on one person because we have so many people who are capable of creating and scoring.
“We are not done yet. We’ve still got another game on Wednesday [against South Africa] and hopefully another game on Sunday.
“We came here to win, so full focus goes towards Wednesday now,” he added.
