Africa Magic, the go-to destination for movie entertainment in Africa, recently hosted its Content Discovery Day in Lagos. At the event, a new lineup of content for the forthcoming calendar year starting in April was also unveiled. It was attended by media representatives, Africa Magic and MultiChoice executives, and distinguished guests showcased an array of indigenous content for DStv and GOtv customers.
The catalogue of content includes drama series, reality TV shows, documentaries, children’s programs, and sports. The event kicked off with the announcement that Africa Magic will clock 20 this year. In the video montage, viewers were treated to a sneak peek of the new Africa Magic original series. It also included the reboot of the old drama series and the indigenous drama series.
As part of the new content direction, Africa Magic will premiere a 130-episode series every six months. Furthermore, it will have 28 more series titles and 20 original Africa Magic movies slated to debut in the 2023/24 calendar year. Some of the drama series set to hit the screens include Lahira, The Residence, and Ripples.
Indigenous language titles premiering this year include Apo and Iwe, an epic Igbo drama series. Also in the content lineup are Girls Hostel, Wedding Stories, two new game shows, Africa Magic original cartoon titled ‘Simbirella’, the reality TV game ‘Ultimate Love’ and ‘What Will People Say?’.
To enjoy the new content lineup, viewers are advised to stay connected to their DStv and GOtv decoder. They can download the MyDStv or MyGOtv app to subscribe or upgrade. They can also set up Auto-Renewal to stay connected without interruptions. Furthermore, customers can also take advantage of the ongoing Step Up offer by upgrading their package and MultiChoice will upgrade them to an even higher package, for free, after 48 hours.
