In the aftermath of Manchester United’s disheartening 3-1 loss to Brighton, talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has voiced his views on the club’s performance. Agbonlahor didn’t mince words as he called for Harry Maguire’s inclusion in the starting lineup and criticized Casemiro’s contribution.
The defeat marked the fourth consecutive victory for Brighton over United and exposed several issues within the team. Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross, and Joao Pedro all found the net for Brighton before Hannibal managed a consolation goal for United.
Agbonlahor specifically singled out Casemiro for his subpar display in midfield, describing the Brazilian as looking “like he was 45 running around that midfield.” Casemiro was substituted in the 65th minute due to his lackluster performance.
Agbonlahor also raised questions about why Harry Maguire, a center-back, isn’t getting more playing time. He argued that the same scrutiny should be applied to other players, such as Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof, for their defensive contributions.
As Manchester United faces Bayern Munich next in the Champions League, the club is under increasing pressure to address its issues and improve its performances.
