Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi has won Everton’s Players’ Player of the Season award. Iwobi played in different positions throughout the season, scored two goals, and gave eight assists, which was the highest in the club.
Iwobi racked up forty one appearances in the recently concluded season and registered a club-high eight assists while scoring two goals.
The midfielder’s fantastic displays also earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September 2022.
Iwobi started every match contested by Everton in the Premier League and was in action for 3,382 minutes.
Everton narrowly avoided relegation after winning 1-0 against Bournemouth on the final day of the season.
Alex Iwobi is the second Nigerian to be voted player of the season by his teammates with Kelechi Iheanacho also winning the award pf Leicester City Player of the Season.
Iwobi will hope to be part of the Nigerian squad to play qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON.
