Real Madrid’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has revealed plans to retire from management after his contract with the club expires in 2026. This announcement comes just ahead of the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, where Ancelotti’s team will strive for a record-extending 15th title.

Ancelotti, 64, had been heavily linked with the Brazil national team job in the summer of 2023. However, he chose to extend his stay with Real Madrid by signing a new contract in January, which keeps him at Santiago Bernabeu until 2026.

Reflecting on his future, Ancelotti told La Repubblica, “I’m going to finish my career at Real Madrid, but first I want another Champions League. As long as Real Madrid wants me, I will be here at their disposal.”

Ancelotti’s current season has been nothing short of remarkable. Under his leadership, Real Madrid clinched the Spanish Super Cup and the La Liga title. Now, they set their sights on European glory once again as they face Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on June 1.

This potential retirement marks the end of an illustrious managerial career, during which Ancelotti has already secured four Champions League titles. Winning a fifth would solidify his legacy as one of the greatest managers in football history.

As Real Madrid prepares for the Champions League final, the team and fans alike will be eager to see if Ancelotti can add one more chapter to his storied career with another triumph on Europe’s biggest stage.
