Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will leave the club at the end of his contract to take the reigns at Brazil ahead of the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

Ancelotti will take over as head coach of Brazil’s national team for the 2024 Copa America.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea coach will become the first foreigner to coach Brazil in almost sixty years.

Tite coached Brazil at last year’s World Cup, but he stood down from the role after their elimination at the quarter-final stage to Croatia.

Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eder Militao are among those who have touted Ancelotti for the Brazil national team job amid persistent speculations.

Meanwhile, Ramon Menezes has been in charge of the team as a caretaker.

The 49-year-old will oversee the six South American qualifying games for the 2026 World Cup scheduled for this year, including the matches against Argentina and Uruguay.

Brazil will start their qualifying campaign at home against Bolivia in September and then away against Peru.
