Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has taken to social media to throw shade at an unnamed person, widely believed to be her younger colleague, Regina Daniels.
This comes after Regina Daniels, who is married to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, made a public statement during a protest earlier this month, condemning violence and advocating for peace.
Regina’s comments, however, did not sit well with many, including Angela Okorie. In a now-deleted post on her Instagram story, Angela appeared to criticize Regina, highlighting the irony in her speaking out about Nigeria’s issues while being married to a man significantly older than herself. Angela’s post read:
Nigeria good na him you marry man wey old pass your grandfather. You won advice Nigerians but you no advice yourself rubbish.”
Though Angela did not directly name Regina, many netizens believe the post was directed at her, as Regina Daniels is the only notable celebrity married to a man old enough to be her grandfather.
Regina Daniels made headlines in April 2019 when she married Ned Nwoko, who is 38 years her senior. The marriage sparked widespread debate, with many criticizing the age difference. Regina later explained that her decision to marry an older man was influenced by her strong-willed nature, as she needed someone who could keep her grounded.
In interviews, Regina has shared that her marriage is much happier in private than it appears publicly. She mentioned that she and her husband often read negative comments together and laugh them off. Ned Nwoko, for his part, has been open about his preference for marrying virgins, stating that he has specific tastes and does not pay attention to public opinion regarding his marital choices.
