Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay Idibia has taken a bold step toward a fresh start following her highly publicized separation from legendary singer 2Baba.
In January, reports emerged that 2Baba, also known as 2face, announced their split, revealing his new relationship with Edo-state lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. The news left fans shocked and deeply divided. Blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus alleged that Annie had entered rehab during this period, with close friends like Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa stepping in to support her.
Now seemingly out of rehab and ready to turn the page, Annie has deleted all posts and videos from her Instagram account. Her decision has fueled speculation about her next move and drawn mixed reactions from fans and colleagues.
While some fans encouraged her to drop her estranged husband’s surname from her bio, others celebrated her strength and resilience. Comments flooded in, including:
-
“Fire on, Annie. We’re solidly behind you!”
-
“A new beginning. The Lord is your strength.”
-
“It’s giving fresh start, and I love that for her.”
Celebrities have also voiced their support. Toke Makinwa expressed disappointment in 2Baba’s actions, promising to stand by Annie. BBNaija stars Khloe Abiri and Queen Atang, along with actress Mary Remmy Njoku, publicly criticized 2Baba for his handling of the situation.
Uche Elendu and women advocate Ifedayo Agoro also condemned the musician, calling out the lack of loyalty and empathy in his actions. TV host Morayo Afolabi Brown reassured Annie, stating, “No matter how many times you fall, you will rise.”
Despite the turbulence, Annie appears determined to rebuild her life. Her decision to clear her Instagram hints at a fresh beginning, with fans and supporters eagerly awaiting her next steps.
