Arsenal have been defeated at home by Brighton and the title is as good as gone for the North London based side.
Manchester City’s win earlier on Sunday meant it was all or nothing for the Gunners but they were unable to rise to the occasion against a Brighton side that responded emphatically to their humiliation at the hands of the Toffees earlier this week.
Brighton took the lead at the start of the second half in controversial fashion. Jakub Kiwior was unable to cut out Pervis Estupinan’s cross after looking like he’d been fouled in his own box as Julio Encisco headed in.
Arsenal tried to find the leveller with chances for substitute Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Magalhães but it wouldn’t come.
Then it was made worse by Brighton’s second. Trossard with the error gave the ball away in the middle of the park and Undav was there to lob Aaron Ramsdale.
The defeat means Man City are just won win away from securing the title.
