Nollywood actress Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, recently shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, reflecting on the joys and challenges of motherhood.
Ashabi, who shares two children with controversial Nigerian street singer Habeeb Okikiola (better known as Portable), expressed her deep love and prayers for her kids.
In a touching post, Ashabi described her children as her “everything,” emphasizing the emotional spectrum they bring to her life. From smiles and laughter to frustrations and heartbreak, her children are her source of strength and inspiration. She prayed for divine protection over them, adding:
“My children are the reasons that I smile, laugh, and cry. They are my happy place, my frustration. They are what make my heart beat and sometimes break. They are my strength. My children are my everything. May GOD protect you both from evil eyes. I love you so much darlings.”
She also hinted at a project or event titled “DEPUTY is coming” in her post, leaving fans curious.
Ashabi kicked off the New Year with a renewed focus on self-love and happiness. In a video shared on Instagram, the Yoruba actress declared that negative comments would not dampen her spirit, comparing her resilience to plants thriving despite dirty water.
“Just as dirty water can’t stop plants from growing, negative comments can’t stop my happiness,” she wrote.
Additionally, Ashabi shared her New Year resolution, which included setting boundaries and prioritizing meaningful work. The actress highlighted the financial pressures she faces, stating her commitment to taking on jobs she’s proud of and can pay her bills with.
Ashabi has been in a relationship with Portable for over three years, and while their relationship has seen its share of ups and downs, the couple continues to stand strong. Recently, the mother of two expressed gratitude to Portable, praising him for his love, care, and support.
“Though we fight and have flops, you are still the best. Thank you for your love, care, and concern. I want to love you more and forever,” she wrote.
Despite being labeled as tumultuous, their bond appears to grow deeper with time.
Ashabi is no stranger to online criticism. In June of last year, she responded sharply to a troll who referred to her as a “babymama.” Ashabi defended her position and countered with a bold remark, calling the troll barren.
