Everton agreed to a one-year deal for 38-year-old former Aston Villa defender Ashley Young.
The ex-England international will undergo a medical on Tuesday after signing for the Toffees as a free agent.
The former Manchester United man has turned down other Premier League, Championship and Europe offers in favour of Everton. The deal is for a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months. Everton narrowly escaped relegation last season and are yet to make a summer signing.
Ashley Young sent a farewell message to Aston Villa Fans, players and everyone around the club.
Firstly I’d like to thank the players, all of you know what I said I wanted to achieve with you and after all the hard work we managed to achieve that!
Secondly thanks to the managers and staff that believed and trusted in me, you know who you are!
And finally to you the fans… pic.twitter.com/i9L1HKKhzf
