As many as 333 people were abducted in six weeks in some parts of the country. According to findings, various incidents occurred in Taraba, Rivers, Delta, Edo, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Kano, Ondo, Adamawa, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Zanfara, Plateau between February 26, 2023, and March 7.
A total ransom of N7,288,000 was also recovered from the kidnappers. Reports say that as many as 80 children were kidnapped by terrorists in the Zafe municipality of Zamfara province. According to a BBC Hausa report, the children were between the ages of 12 and 17.
