Singer and politician Olubankole Wellington, aka Banky W, has partnered with his church to donate over 2,500 items and provide free medical services as a way to give back to society.
Banky also campaigned and contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Eti-Osa federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives. However, he lost to Labour Party’s Thaddeus Attah. Despite this, he has said community service shouldn’t be dependent only on if a politician won the election.
If so, he said, such politicians would not deserve the chance to control the people.
He appreciated volunteers for their participation to ensure the event was a success.
