Bauchi State House of Assembly has passed a supplementary budget of N96.676 billion for 2024.
The vote of approval came after the House Committee on Appropriations adopted its report in plenary.
The supplemental budget intends to fill holes in the basic 2024 budget by addressing changing economic conditions and allocating funding for unanticipated expenses.
It also provides additional funding for existing and future development projects around the state.
The Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Habibu Umar, proposed that MDAs are required to report their performance on a regular basis, and poor revenue sources may be excluded from the 2025 budget.
Umar also proposed that the House send a letter of congratulations to the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport for their excellent presentation and defence of the ministry’s 2024 budget performance.
