Bayer Leverkusen has put a staggering €150m (£128m) price tag on Florian Wirtz to deter potential suitors Barcelona and Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.
The 20-year-old, who played a pivotal role in Xabi Alonso’s title-winning squad, has attracted attention with his stellar performances, contributing 17 goals and 18 assists across 41 appearances.
Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro affirmed the club’s stance, stating that Wirtz would only depart for a record fee. Despite speculation, Wirtz’s father and agent hinted at his commitment until his contract expires in 2027.
As the Bundesliga champions await the La Liga giants’ response, Wirtz remains focused on Europa League duties, with Leverkusen set to face West Ham in the quarter-final second leg.
