Former Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem housemates, Tacha Akide and Mercy Eke, have taken social media by storm after publicly reconciling.
In a video shared on Tacha’s Instagram page, the once-rival reality stars were seen sharing warm moments and serving pure bestie vibes. Captioning the post, Tacha wrote, “What went on the other night.”
The clip quickly went viral, with fans flooding the comment section to express shock, excitement, and playful frustration over the unexpected reunion.
One fan, @mizbeauty_official, wrote, “What will now happen to all the people I fought with?” while another, @duke_hrm, added, “So the people I fought with in 2019 nko?” Others praised the duo for proving that time heals all wounds, with comments like “Love always wins” and “You both look great — I’m off to reconcile with my Mercenary friends too!”
The viral video reportedly came from Beauty Tukura’s birthday party, where both stars were spotted having fun together. Tacha revealed that they’ve actually been on good terms for four years and credited Toke Makinwa for helping them squash their long-time feud.
Just a week before their viral appearance, Mercy had openly celebrated Tacha’s Guinness World Record win for the most makeovers, calling her “deserving” and hinting that she owed her one. This show of support followed Tacha’s warm birthday message to Mercy last month, where she described her as “gorgeous” and encouraged her to “keep winning.”
Fans of the Pepper Dem season will remember the infamous fight that led to Tacha’s disqualification and Mercy Eke’s eventual win. The clash marked the beginning of their rivalry, with many viewers insisting that Tacha could have clinched the crown if not for her exit.
Over the years, both women have occasionally thrown subtle shades at each other. In 2023, Tacha appeared to mock Mercy after flaunting her own Range Rover, tweeting, “But is she me?” That same year, after Ilebaye’s All Stars victory, Tacha took another swipe at Mercy, suggesting she wouldn’t have won her season if not for Tacha’s disqualification.
However, in 2022, the two began to mend fences after an open conversation with Toke Makinwa, where they admitted that outsiders often fuelled the tension between them. Since then, their friendship has slowly blossomed culminating in this much-celebrated reunion.
