Former Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has made her return to Nigeria after spending over two months in the UK with her husband, David Oyekanmi.
Taking to social media, the reality star shared a heartfelt video of her and her husband at the airport as they bid each other goodbye. In an emotional note, Queen revealed how she missed her first flight back to Lagos because she was caught up in love.
Expressing her feelings, Queen admitted to having mixed emotions about her return. While she was excited to reunite with her daughter and siblings, she felt the sadness of leaving her husband behind. Assuring her fans, she revealed that the separation was only temporary as they would reunite in a few weeks.
She wrote:
“That’s how love had me caught up. I ended up missing my first flight back to Lagos. I had mixed feelings, happy to spend an extra day with my boo, but sad because my daughter and siblings were already expecting me.
One last round of kisses and hugs until we see each other again in a few weeks, my love. I love you, Daddy.”
This reunion comes after Queen and her husband shut down separation rumors during the festive period. Queen reunited with her husband in the UK for Christmas, proving that their marriage is still going strong.
Earlier in October, speculation about trouble in their 7-month marriage emerged when Queen unfollowed her husband on Instagram, removed his name from her bio, and deleted photos of him. However, their Christmas reunion dispelled the rumors, with Queen resuming her “wifey duties” and David spoiling her in return.
Queen Mercy Atang tied the knot with David Oyekanmi in March. Their journey to matrimony began with a traditional introduction ceremony in Queen’s hometown in Akwa Ibom, attended by fellow BBNaija star Nini Singh. Shortly after, the couple held a civil wedding at the Federal Marriage Registry in Lagos, surrounded by close friends and family.
