Nollywood Yoruba actress Bimpe Akintunde recently shared her thoughts on the powerful lesson she learned after watching the highly anticipated Lisabi sequel, starring her colleague, Lateef Adedimeji.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram, Bimpe revealed that the movie reinforced the significance of a woman’s support in a man’s journey to success.
Bimpe, reflecting on the character Ikeola’s influence on Lisabi’s victory in the Oloyo war, expressed that no matter how powerful a man may be, he is unlikely to win without the support of a woman. She emphasized the importance of appreciating and adoring the women who stand by their men, especially those who are brave enough to fight alongside them.
So I saw LISABI this midnight, and I realize that no matter how powerful you are as a man, without the support of a woman, it’s likely you keep trying and never win; LISABI won the Oloyo war because of A backup of a Brave Woman IKEOLA, moral lesson,” Bimpe wrote. “Dear Men, God wasn’t foolish when he created Women as your backbone and support system; if you are a man and God blesses you with a Brave woman to support you in your journey, learn to Appreciate and Adore them. A Brave Woman will go to war with her Husband and make sure he wins, even laying down her life for him.”
Bimpe also prayed for women who might find themselves in situations where they are backing the wrong person, asking for strength and wisdom. She concluded the post with a special shout-out to Lateef Adedimeji and actress Ayaba ‘Detola Adebimpe, praising them for their incredible performances in the film.
Kudos to My Egba Bloodline Lateef Adedimeji and My Blessed Ayaba ‘Detola Adebimpe. I celebrate you both,” Bimpe wrote, also encouraging her followers to watch Lisabi on Netflix and to subscribe to WasilaCodedTv to enjoy her show IRIRI MI.
Bimpe Akintunde’s post follows previous reflections on relationships and the strength of women. Just a month ago, she shared insights on the secret to a sustainable marriage, advising her followers to shut out negative side talk. This advice came after her colleague, Ronke Odusanya, shared her own experience with a failed marriage.
To ring in the New Year, Bimpe had also expressed admiration for women who refuse to be broken by life’s challenges. She celebrated those who rise from their struggles and rebuild themselves, praying for the strength to continue moving forward despite the odds.
