Nigerians have continued to express mixed reactions over self-proclaimed relationship expert Blessing Nkiru Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO, after she shared photos of herself meeting veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie.
While the photos show Blessing CEO dressed in a more modest, native attire that covers all parts of her body, some followers were quick to call her out for the contrast with her usual revealing outfits.
The photos, shared on Instagram, depict Blessing CEO and Pete Edochie smiling together as she made a claim that she went to meet the Igbo chieftain to gather real information rather than indulge in gossip. Her post was accompanied by the caption:
OGADAGIDI ….. I wanted the real story so bad so I went to get it … No be cho cho cho, you get shock absorber???? Rooted and deep in culture..”
Despite the positive feedback from some of her followers, who praised her for being “well-dressed,” many criticized her for allegedly using the meeting to fuel content for clout. Some users even mocked her for dressing “appropriately” for the first time, calling her out for previously dressing provocatively in other posts.
- One commenter, officialwhite_lion, questioned her previous support for May Edochie, asking what had changed.
- Another user, mhzizohgee, accused her of trying to exploit Pete Edochie’s family issues for content.
- Some users, like fingerprintcomedies, made sarcastic remarks, noting her modest attire for the meeting, comparing it to how she typically dresses.
- Others, including dozieedezuno, pointed out that she was trying to present herself as more respectable by dressing up to meet Pete Edochie, dubbing it a ‘better person’ look.
In response to the backlash, Blessing CEO defended her choice of attire, stating that every occasion calls for a particular style. She mentioned that there is a time for every outfit, implying that her dress for the meeting was a reflection of the seriousness of the moment.
Earlier, Blessing CEO had caused a stir when she shaded May Edochie in a post that criticized fans who were tearing up in support of Yul Edochie’s first wife, after Judy Austin shared a prayer for him.
