It is a painful time for Nollywood star Bose Alao as she mourns the death of her husband and father of her children, Razak Omotoyosi.
The popular Beninese international footballer passed away at just 38 years old in his home country. Authorities in Benin confirmed the sad news, with reports suggesting he battled an undisclosed illness before his death.
Razak is survived by his wife, Bose Alao, and their four daughters.
Reacting to the heartbreaking development, several Nollywood stars expressed their shock. Kunle Afod’s wife simply wrote, “Ahhh”, Kemity exclaimed, “God!!”, while Lola Magret and Wumi Toriola also poured out their grief online.
Just last month, Bose Alao had opened up about the complexities of her marriage in an interview with Biola Bayo. She revealed that after separating from her husband for three years, she became his “side chick” at some point. She also recalled how deeply hurt she felt when another woman who answered her husband’s phone mocked her as “an old taker,” despite the sacrifices she had made for her family and career.
Back in 2018, the actress announced a split from Razak, citing repeated domestic violence. At the time, a leaked voice note revealed her struggles, though she later apologised to her husband for exposing him, admitting that they were both guilty and were seeking professional help to fix their marriage.
In a later interview, Bose clarified that their marriage was still intact, insisting she wanted to keep her family matters private while they underwent therapy.
