The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, swore in the newly elected senators to the 10th National Assembly.
Sen. Akpabio was elected as the Senate’s president on Tuesday.
Sen. Akpabio scored 63 votes to his opponent’s 46. Sani Tambuwal, Clerk of the National Assembly, declared Akpabio the Senate President.
Following his inauguration, the new Senate President and other elected senators of the February 25 general election took the oath of office.
