Augustine Eguavoen has stood down as the Super Eagles’ temporary coach, according to OwnGoalNigeria.

Eguavoen said his mandate was for two games.

After unsuccessful attempts to employ a formal head coach for the national team, the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, appointed a technical director.

He oversaw two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
