Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, was sworn in as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, or NURTW, at the union’s national office in Abuja.
MC Oluomo waselected through consensus during last Saturday’s gathering of union leaders in Osogbo, Osun State.
Before becoming NURTW National President, MC Oluomo served as Chairman of the NURTW, Lagos State Chapter.
On Monday, he was introduced to the National Administrative Council (NAC) and Central Working Committee (CWC) members.
Mercy Ibeh, the union’s legal officer, oversaw the swearing-in ceremony.
While MC Oluomo was inaugurated in as national president, Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun were sworn in as Vice President of the Southwest and Trustee.
“I promise to lead the union to a greater height with the help of almighty Allah,” MC Oluomo said after being sworn in.
