Former Senate President of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo on his recent win at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Femi Adebayo clinched the Best Lead Actor award for his performance in Seven Doors, among other accolades at the prestigious event held on May 10th.
Reacting to the victory, Saraki celebrated Femi’s achievement as a monumental win for Kwara State. He emphasized that the award exemplifies what can be accomplished when talent aligns with opportunity.
“This is a well-earned recognition and a proud moment for Kwarans everywhere. More than that, it is a reminder of what’s possible when talent meets opportunity. May this achievement open even greater stages and inspire a new generation of young Kwarans to dream big, work hard, and tell their own stories,” he stated.
Femi Adebayo, in turn, expressed gratitude for Saraki’s kind words, acknowledging the community support and dedication that contributed to his success.
Femi Adebayo’s latest movie, Seven Doors, has also been making waves. After its success at the AMVCA, the film reached the fourth spot on Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows in Nigeria. Seven Doors tells the story of a king’s lineage, his turbulent reign, and his complex relationships with seven wives, led by Chioma Akpotha as Amaka.
Femi revealed that casting Chioma as the lead actress was a divine decision, despite initial hesitations. Chioma later connected deeply with the script, attributing her involvement to fate.
In a touching moment, Femi presented his AMVCA award to his father, expressing gratitude for the sacrifices, prayers, and love of his parents. He credited them as the foundation of his success.
