Bose Ogulu, fondly known as “Mama Burna,” was left overwhelmed by the love and thoughtful gestures from her superstar son, Burna Boy, and his siblings on her birthday.
Taking to Instagram, Bose shared heartfelt photos and videos from the surprise celebration, expressing her gratitude. She revealed that despite not planning to mark the day, her family and team went all out to create a memorable celebration filled with love, laughter, and meaningful gifts.
In her words:
“I’m honestly at a loss for words when it comes to my family and team. I’m beyond speechless! Even when I didn’t feel like doing anything, they went above and beyond to make the day special. It was filled with so much love, laughter, and, of course, thoughtful gifts. I truly don’t know what I’ve done to deserve such incredible people in my life.”
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy and his siblings have gone the extra mile for their mother. Last year, Burna Boy celebrated Bose in grand style during his performance in Austin, Texas, by bringing her on stage for a sweet mother-son moment. The audience joined him in serenading her with a heartfelt birthday song, making it an unforgettable experience for “Mama Burna.”
Reflecting on the moment, Bose expressed her joy and gratitude, describing it as a blessing she would cherish forever.
Beyond being Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu has been instrumental in his meteoric rise as his manager. After initially stepping back in 2014 to focus on her children, she resumed managing his career full-time in 2017. Since then, Burna Boy has achieved global success, earning her accolades and solidifying her reputation as a driving force behind the “African Giant.”
In July, Bose celebrated her son’s historic achievement of selling out London’s 80,000-capacity stadium twice, cementing his status as the biggest touring African artist. She has consistently praised Burna Boy for redefining Afrobeat music, describing him as “the blueprint” and a legacy-builder.
Despite setbacks, including missing out on Grammy wins, Bose remains proud of her son’s impact on the global music scene, calling him a “gift of God that adds blessings and no sorrow.”
