It’s a milestone celebration for Burna Boy’s parents, Bose and Samuel Ogulu, as they mark their 35th wedding anniversary.
Bose Ogulu, popularly known as Mama Burna, took to her Instagram page to share a mix of throwback and recent photos of herself and her husband. In her heartfelt post, she expressed deep gratitude to God for sustaining their marriage over the decades.
Reflecting on their journey, Bose wrote that it has been 35 years since they exchanged vows, promising “till death do us part.” She thanked God for the ups and downs of their union and the joy of raising their three children.
“Thanking God for 35 years since we each said ‘I do’ & ‘Till death do us part’. Thanking God for the journey, the roller coaster ride & the joy of watching the 3 musketeers we have been appointed caretakers of. Happy Anniversary to Us.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 1990, are blessed with three children—Damini (Burna Boy, 31), Ronami (29), and Nissi (28).
This is not the first time Bose has celebrated her marriage publicly. In 2022, she marked their 32nd anniversary with prayers for more blissful years ahead. Just last year, her children surprised her with an intimate birthday celebration, which she described as overwhelming and unforgettable.
Beyond being a wife and mother, Bose Ogulu has played a pivotal role in her son’s global success. She began managing Burna Boy’s career in its early stages in 2014 but temporarily stepped back to focus on raising her kids. By 2017, she fully resumed as his manager and has since steered him to international acclaim, earning herself the title “Mama Burna.”
Her efforts have contributed to Burna Boy’s massive achievements, including selling out an 80,000-capacity stadium in London twice and becoming the most successful touring African artist. Even after his four Grammy losses last year, Bose praised her son, describing him as the blueprint of Afrobeat and a “gift of God that adds blessings and no sorrow.”
