Tony Cascarino, a former Chelsea forward, has praised Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid’s newest signing, and claimed that the Englishman has the potential to surpass Zinedine Zidane as one of the game’s best players.
One of the most well-known moves of this summer was Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid for €103 million and a six-year contract.
Cascarino claimed that the England international might surpass the legendary French midfielder, Zidane.
“I think he’s capable of everything, from what I’ve watched of him. When you look at Zidane, Zidane was six foot one and he was quick. But he didn’t look blisteringly, eye-catching quick. But he was [quick].
“Bellingham’s like that, where he’s got a long stride, and once he gets going he’s getting past people.
“Technically, [Bellingham’s] very sound. Is he as gifted as Zidane? No. But can he develop and improve and become an even better player? Yes.”
