Veteran Nollywood actor, Charles Inojie, recently opened up about the painful experiences of his early life, detailing how he was abandoned by his mother at just one year old and faced neglect from his father due to his stepmother.

In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, Charles Inojie shared the heartbreaking story of his childhood. He revealed that his parents separated when he was one, and his mother chose to leave him with his father. Growing up, he relied on the breast milk of his grandmother for sustenance.

Charles went on to disclose that his father remarried, and the stepmother presented an ultimatum to choose between her and his child. Unfortunately, his father opted to stay with the woman who satisfied him sexually, leaving Charles to grow up without his parents’ care.

Years later, Charles received a call from an uncle who facilitated a reunion with his estranged mother. When he visited, he encountered an emotional moment, but he made it clear that he wouldn’t share the same emotional connection with her.

The actor also recounted a challenging episode when he sought financial assistance from his father to attend university. His stepmother insisted that he wait until her child was old enough to go to university together. Despite the obstacles, Charles persevered and eventually carved a successful career in the entertainment industry.

The story took another emotional turn when Charles sought his father’s blessings before embarking on his career. His father, ashamed of his past neglect, initially refused to see him. After a friend’s advice, the father finally prayed for Charles, marking a poignant moment of reconciliation.
