Chelsea FC has received a major injury blow ahead of their Premier League match against Sheffield United. Marc Cucurella, Reece James, and Robert Sanchez are set for spells on the sidelines after sustaining injuries during their previous fixture against Everton.

Captain James was forced to withdraw during the first half, while Cucurella and Sanchez had to be substituted during the final moments of the game. Cucurella will meet with foot and ankle specialists to determine the next steps, while Sanchez is undergoing assessments on his knee.

The news comes after James was confirmed to have a significant hamstring injury. The team will have to rely on their remaining players as they face Sheffield United tomorrow.

Mauricio Pochettino completed his media duties on Friday afternoon and delivered the news that everyone has been hoping for. Christopher Nkunku is in contention to face Sheffield United.

It was a rare moment of positive injury news that Pochettino was able to deliver as the Blues received negative news on the likes of Reece James, Marc Cucurella and Robert Sanchez all ruled out. Nevertheless the Blues boss will hope to get his team back on track on Saturday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s head coach discussed his squad’s Christmas gathering, Ian Maatsen’s progress, as well as Djordje Petrovic’s readiness to start against the Blades.
