Legal practitioner and social critic, Inibehe Effiong has responded to claims that Igbos plan to take over Lagos from Yoruba.
Effiong questioned the sanity of those making these allegations. He openly wondered if they would use the army to force the Yoruba out of Lagos. The social critic said this in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Monday.
Recall that some state politicians were arguing that the Igbo were planning to take over Lagos through the Labor Party(LP).
One of them, Femi Fani Kayode, leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), said his party, All Progressive Congress (APC) wouldn’t allow LP to win because Labor Party (LP), Lagos gubernatorial candidate Gbadebo Rhodes Bivar will hand over the state to Igbo.
Fani-Kayode claimed that Yoruba and Igbo were tortured during presidential elections in the southeast.
In a series of tweets, the politician also claimed that several Igbo people in the southeast were killed for voting for Bola Tinubu.
However, Inibehe Effiong called this claim silly propaganda, claiming that God gave the human brain a justification.
He wrote;
“How will the Igbos take over? Will the Igbos use the military to chase out the Yorubas from Lagos? Will they forcefully take over people’s lands and businesses? Will they sack traditional rulers in Lagos? God gave us brains to enable us reason. Stop parroting silly propaganda”.
