Colombia’s national team manager, Nestor Lorenzo, has offered reassurance regarding the injury status of Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. Diaz sustained a groin injury during Liverpool’s recent FA Cup quarter-final match against Manchester United. However, Lorenzo has indicated that the national team will take appropriate measures to care for Diaz.
Addressing concerns about the 27-year-old’s condition, Lorenzo stated, “Luis is fine. We have measured the loads because he played the extra time. He is one of the players who plays the most. They have asked me to take care of him. We’re going to do that, but he’s going to measure himself so that he’s fine.”
Despite the setback, the outlook appears positive for Diaz’s potential return to action, both for Colombia and Liverpool. With Liverpool aiming for multiple titles, including the Premier League and Europa League, Diaz’s fitness will be crucial for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Following Colombia’s friendly against Spain, they are set to face Romania, concluding their international break. Meanwhile, Liverpool, currently second in the Premier League, will resume league action against Brighton on March 31st.
Diaz’s recovery will be closely monitored by both Colombia and Liverpool, with hopes high for his swift return to the pitch.
