Job Description
The core purpose of the Commercial Lead – beverage is to spearhead the growth and management of the alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage segment within Vendease. This includes leading a national sales team, developing and executing growth strategies, managing operational excellence, and ensuring high client satisfaction. The role demands a blend of strategic thinking, innovative problem-solving, and strong leadership to drive demand, manage supply, and expand the market presence across the country.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead a national team of sales agents to drive demand and supply of alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage. Develop and execute innovative strategies for revenue growth and market expansion.
- Supply Chain Development: Build and manage relationships with importers, and local suppliers to ensure a consistent and high-quality supply of products. Develop and optimise supply chain logistics to support export operations and local distribution efficiently.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the seamless operation of local sourcing divisions by managing logistics, regulatory compliance for exports, and quality control. Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead a dedicated team responsible for alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage sourcing. Hire, mentor, and develop team members to achieve high performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Sales & Customer Relationship Management: Drive sales strategies for both export and local markets, ensuring strong relationships with buyers and suppliers. Implement effective customer relationship management practices to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- Data-Driven Insights: Utilise advanced analytics to understand market trends, customer needs, and supply chain performance. Leverage data to make informed decisions and to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strategic Thinking & Market Insight: Ability to understand local market trends, especially in the alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage sector, and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Operational & Supply Chain Expertise: Proven experience in managing supply chains, including logistics, quality control, and regulatory compliance for food logistics.
- Leadership & Team Development: Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing effective teams.
- Customer & Supplier Relationship Management: Excellent skills in managing relationships with both customers and suppliers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Financial Acumen & Budget Management: Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and managing resources to maximise efficiency and growth.
- Adaptability & Innovative Problem-Solving: Agility in adapting to market changes and overcoming challenges with innovative solutions.
- Data Analysis & Decision Making: Proficient in using data analysis tools to inform strategy and decision-making.
Technical Skills
- Market Analysis & Insight Generation: Expertise in conducting market research and generating insights for the alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage sector.
- Project Management & Agile Methodologies: Skilled in project management and the use of agile methodologies to drive initiatives forward.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the regulatory environment for food supply chain within local market operations.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Deep understanding of sales strategies, with the ability to design, implement, and refine effective sales processes and methodologies.
- Financial Management & Budgeting: Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to maximise ROI and drive growth.
- Data Analysis : Proficient in data analysis tools and methodologies to monitor sales performance and market trends.
Qualification
- Minimum 6 years in leadership roles, managing a high performing team.
- Proven track record of achieving growth targets.
- Experience in the alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage industry is preferred.
- Deep product knowledge of the alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage space.
- Experience with end-to-end go-to-market strategies is a plus.
