Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne will miss the Community Shield clash against Arsenal. The midfield will also miss the start of the new season after suffering a hamstring tear during the 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final. De Bruyne was forced off the pitch in the first half in Istanbul.
And it seems the Belgian’s injury was serious, as the Daily Star reports that he will not be fit in time for the new campaign. Kevin De Bruyne is believed to have suffered a Grade 3 hamstring tear.
The injury will see him miss the Community Shield clash against Arsenal. He will also miss Manchester City’s first Premier League game against Burnley at Turf Moor.
