Job Description
Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial accounts and liaise with external auditors
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Prepare budgets, and cash-flow projections and monitor actual expenditures against the same
- Ensure accurate invoices are issued to clients promptly
- Carry out periodic bank reconciliations
- Follow up with clients on receivables and related receipts
- Process monthly staff payroll and pension remittances
- Perform treasury functions including management of cash float, accounts receivables, and payables
- Ensure timely renewal of Operating Licenses and Insurance policies
- Ensure the preparation, remittance, and timely filing of all local, state, and
federal taxes and returns as well as cultivate relationships with tax authorities to obtain various tax certificates - Liaise with service providers promptly on accounting, regulatory, statutory, and other matters
- Provide financial input for contract bids
- Supervise account personnel and storekeeper
- Ensure the application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures within the department.
- Manage the company assets register
- Manage relationships with bankers, regulators, tax officials, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders
- Handle other assignments as required by Management
Qualifications
- A minimum of a 2:2 bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related discipline.
- ACCA/ACA is required.
- At least 5 years post-qualification experience in management, financial accounting, and treasury management.
- Strong financial and accounting background.
- Experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
- A team player and goal-oriented individual.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
