Founders Connect is hiring a Content Marketer.
Hey there, future content marketing superstar! Founders Connect is looking for a content creation wizard to join our team at Founders Connect and How I. If you’re a passionate, talented individual with a knack for crafting compelling content and growing social media communities, keep reading! I am looking for someone who wants to get a job as a senior content marketing manager in their next role OR wants to transition into growth or product marketing.
🌟 I’m Peace Itimi, a multifaceted Marketing leader with over a decade of experience leading marketing teams for companies like Smile ID, Seedstars, Africhange, Kora, and more. I’m also the creator and chief executive of Founders Connect, a media organization dedicated to showcasing the inspiring stories of African entrepreneurs and business leaders.
At Founders Connect, we bridge the gap between the African tech ecosystem and its people by creating compelling video content, hosting engaging events across cities like Lagos, London, and Toronto, and fostering a vibrant community of black builders – creators, tech professionals, founders, and investors.
We’ve made some impressive strides, including organizing an event for 1000+ people in Lagos and 300+ people in London. Our video interview series has garnered over 2 million views on YouTube, and we produced “Innovating Africa,” the first tech-focused long-form documentary in Nigeria. CONTENT MARKETING MANAGER
About the role
This is a full-time role that will have you flexing your content creation muscles across various platforms. Here’s what you’ll be up to:
- Managing and growing the Founders Connect and How I social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok)
- Creating engaging, original content for our newsletter and LinkedIn page
- Designing eye-catching graphics using Canva for social media posts and YouTube thumbnails
- Writing scripts for YouTube videos, Instagram content, and sponsored ads
- Sourcing and scheduling interviews with amazing founders and talents
- Supporting special projects like events, film projects, mentorship classes, and more
- Developing and implementing our content strategy across multiple channels
- Analyzing data to optimize our content marketing efforts
- Collaborating with the marketing team and other departments to align content with overall goals
- Managing our editorial calendar and ensuring consistency across platforms
- Monitoring trends and adapting our strategy to stay ahead of the curve. CONTENT MARKETING MANAGER
Qualification
I’m looking for an excellent executor with a growth mindset and a passion for content creation and social media. You should have:
- At least 3 years of experience in content marketing, journalism, or a related field
- A strong portfolio showcasing your content writing and social media prowess
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and website traffic analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Expertise in social media management and a deep understanding of various platforms. Do you like peanuts? You’d need them for the application.
- The ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to optimize our content strategy
- A creative, innovative approach to content creation and a willingness to experiment with new formats and platforms
- A love for experimenting, learning, and growing our platforms
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- Stellar Canva design skills (seriously, you should be the baddest Canva designer who ever liveth 😎)
- The drive to help us reach 3x social media numbers in 12 months😃

- You’re in it for the long haul: I’m looking for someone who sees themselves in this role for at least 12 months. If you’re looking for a brief stint, this isn’t the right fit.
- You’re a self-starter: I need someone who hates to be micromanaged and values autonomy. I’ll provide clear instructions, make myself available for questions, share resources, give actionable feedback, and support you every step of the way, but you need to be able to communicate and give updates on your progress.
- You have proof of work with RESULTS: Show me what you’ve accomplished in your previous roles and how you’ve driven tangible results.
- You know your superpower: Are you a Canva wizard? An Instagram or Twitter pro? An exceptional writer? Incredibly organized? Sell yourself and brag about your unique skills in your application essay.
- You know me and understand our work: This one’s a no-brainer. Ensure that your application demonstrates your familiarity with my work at Founders Connect and your genuine desire to work with us specifically.
