Job Description
As a Trainee Contracts Engineer, you will work closely with our Contracts Manager and experienced contracts team to gain valuable hands-on experience in contract management within the organization. You will support the Contracts Manager in various aspects of contract administration, negotiations, and compliance, contributing to the successful execution of contracts for our projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Help manage contract documentation, including filing, organization, and version control.
- Collaborate with project teams to track contract milestones and deliverables.
- Participate in contract negotiations, under the guidance of the Contracts Manager, to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
- Gain proficiency in identifying contract risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Learn to assess contract compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Assist in identifying and managing contractual risks and issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure adherence to contract terms and resolve any disputes or discrepancies.
- Prepare regular reports on contract status, including updates on milestones, deliverables, and potential risks.
- Maintain accurate records of contract-related correspondence and communications.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to develop expertise in contract management practices and tools.
- Stay current with industry best practices and trends in contract management.
Qualifications
- BSc Chem/Mech/Prod Eng/Accountancy or any other Degree Equivalent.
- Minimum years of Experience: preferably 3 years of working experience related to the oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Integrity, attention to detail, thoroughness, excellent mathematical skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload, good communicator (written and spoken), excellent computer proficiency, must be able to use Microsoft suite of applications and learn Company’s software packages eg Docuware, SAGE, etc; and willingness to learn and adapt.
