Job Description
We are looking for a highly productive and self-motivated Costing Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Finance Supervisor, the incumbent will play an integral role in our Costing team.
Responsibilities
- Review, process and reconcile freight and duty invoices on a daily basis;
- Liaise with logistics providers in resolving logistics administration;
- Assist in populating and correcting cost sheets;
- Analyze freight – cost by province, cost for returns, weight/dimensions, and other metrics;
- Maintain and output month freight/duty costing summaries;
- Support freight account opening, maintenance, and expansions;
- Act as the sixth man off the bench – support Accounting Supervisor where needed; support other payable functions where needed (occasional and limited to purchases and duty);
Qualifications
- 1 year of costing or accounts payable experience;
- Familiarity with Canada Post, Purolator, and International Freight/Logistics billings;
- Proficient with dealing with large dataset using Excel, Power Query, pivots and other tools;
- Ability to conceptualize, analyze and provide meaningful conclusions;
- Basic accounting concepts a must; familiar with basic costing KPI’S;
- Good communication, verbally and orally – not afraid to ask questions;
- Effective time management and strong organizational skills;
- Takes ownership and accountability seriously;
- Ability to work under pressure and strong attention to details;
- Flexible, versatile, and passionate about the role; and
- Ability to work in a fast pace and complex environment
